You have opened my eyes
To the beauty around me.
Now that I'm able to see
I realize how very blind I have been.
I have spent a long time
Just looking down
At my shoes,
Avoiding others eyes,
Focusing on old visions,
Scary pictures of the past.
Today I noticed that the trees
Are budding tiny new leaves.
Today was a rainy day
And the air smelled freshly washed.
Thank you for this new gift of sight.
I wonder what I will see tomorrow.
